Read and Make

The topic that I read is “Reading Images as Ideological Subjects”. From my understand, it about the environment that effect people taste. First Karl Marx theory that talk about manufacturing is control our perspective and idea from medium so, ideology is control people in wrong way because human see mass media very often. Next, Althusser’s, if we don’t have ideology we will not have value and idea in our society. The beliefs are shaped through the unconscious. Lastly, Gramsci’s concept of hegemony, influenced meaning and use of popular culture by not be benefit to producer. It talk about push and pull which is about idea among all level of society. The hegemony can always change by laws and society relationship.

From my poster design, I talk about Karl Marx theory that I design people get shape from mass media. For example, the advertisement that treat people to be grateful to parent. So, I compare that human is like a robot that get the replace information from mass media for a while and doesn’t know it correct or wrong but the environment influenced us to trust like that.
